Galway Utd Players Pay an Inspirational Visit

Soccer fans of all ages in Claddagh School were excited and delighted to welcome members of the Galway United mens’ and womens’ teams to the school today, along with some pretty impressive silverware! As well as generously posing for photos and signing autographs, the players took questions from their enthusiastic audience, and maybe provided a spark of inspiration for some of the future United players in the hall!

Ballad of a Bandit comes to Claddagh!

The swashbuckling tale of the daring Captain McNamara of Cong came to life in the school by Branar Téatar do Pháistí today, 11th March.

Starting with an innocent cleaner arriving in the classroom, this fantastic show soon develops into an unexpected and fantastic immersive experience of music, object animation, clowning and epic storytelling. The children loved ever second of it!

The show was brought to the school as part of our current Erasmus+ WELL Project.

Celebrating World Book Day

"Reading should not be presented to children as a chore, a duty. It should be offered as a gift." – Kate DiCamillo

Well done to all the children who made such an amazing effort to dress up as their favourite book characters for World Book Day 2024.

Winners from each class were presented with vouchers for Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop, and many of the children had the opportunity to visit the bookshop this week, to experience the magic of storytelling, imagination and the world of books.
